10 Tips For How to Grow a Thicker Beard

10 Tips For How to Grow a Thicker Beard

By: Beau Vuillemot • Jun 16, 2022

To wear one’s beard thin or thick? That shouldn’t even be a question. Yes, there are some who look better with facial hair thin as paper. But in general, having a thick beard is better. Why? It makes you look more masculine, sexy, and mysterious. Now that’s settled, follow these tips to help you get into the thick of things.

1. Stick to a healthy diet.

Make sure you consume food that contains Biotin, also called vitamin B, which helps beards get thicker. Some food containing Biotin include almonds, cauliflower, bananas, etc. Protein is also essential if you want a thicker beard. Eggs, tuna, and steak are just some guilt-free, high-protein options you can partake in.

2. Hydrate often.

Isn’t it convenient that one of the natural things you do each day helps you grow your beard not just longer but thicker! Yessir! Drinking water (lots of it) helps clean out toxins in the body, which will help you accomplish your beard-thickening goal.

3. Get good sleep.

This is probably the easiest to do on this list: Sleep! (unless you’re an insomniac) And by that, we don’t mean a 30-minute nap. We’re talking 7-8 hours of deep slumber every night. Long sleep helps your body recuperate and gets rid of toxins that can block thicker beard growth.

4. Exercise regularly.

Exercise? Yes, cardio such as running, biking, dancing, etc., helps reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels. This will increase testosterone, which promotes healthy follicles and hair growth. So pick up those running shoes and make your beard grow!

5. Reduce stress.

As mentioned, stress can be a beard growth blocker. That’s why it’s important to identify personal and professional stressors in your life. Once you’ve identified them, develop a plan  that will either reduce or eliminate what stresses you out.

6. Clean your sheets

This may be a low-key tip, but it will surely help your quest for a thicker beard. Having clean bedsheets and pillowcases will ensure you don’t get any dirt and oil build-up to prevent facial hair growth.

7. Don't forget beard oil.

Consider our Beard Oil your secret weapon in your beard growing process. Every bottle is formulated to nourish every beard strand down to its roots, promoting beard growth. Enjoy it in different scents: Bay Rum, Cedar & Pine, Clary Sage, Sandalwood, or go with our Unscented variant.

8. Comb daily.

Combing your beard regularly doesn’t only help disentangle strands of facial hair but helps remove dead skin cells that prevent your beard from growing both longer and thicker. Don’t settle for cheap, easily broken combs. A quality beard comb is a good beard-vestment.

9. Trim regularly.

Aside from keeping you look like a caveman, regular trimming has other benefits. It will help facilitate healthy hair growth and help your beard fill itself out better. Since you’ll be doing the trim, make sure you get quality grooming scissors that are also user-friendly.

10. Wash and condition.

This list won’t be complete without this ever-present beard care tip: always deep clean and nourish your beard! So ‘just cleaning it with water is a no-no, and any shampoo won’t do. Use a beard wash and conditioner to remove growth blockers such as dirt and oil.
